When it comes to hair loss in women, several different causes may lead to this particular condition. Below we will look at just what these are and also what the signs are that you may be suffering from one of these particular hair loss women causes.
1. Androgenetic Alopecia, which is similar to that which men suffer from, however, in women rather than becoming bald it results in a diffused thinning of the hair on the scalp. In some cases the woman may actually suffer from a combination of two types of this hair loss problem and is caused by a number of different factors.
With this particular form of hair loss the main factors which result in this condition occurring is that their hormones are not working correctly. Just as with men when high levels of the hormone DHT appear in their body this can partially be the cause of the woman’s hair loss.
However, along with a woman’s hormones playing a role in them suffering from this form of hair loss it may be something that they have inherited from their parent. So do not think that just because your father lost his hair that you will do so as well. It needs to be a gene that both your parents carry in order for you to suffer from this form of hair loss.
2. Telogen Effluvium is caused when a woman goes through some traumatic event in her life. In many cases, women who have a traumatic childbirth, have been malnourished, undergo any form of major surgery, suffer severe stress, or an infection can see that they start to lose their hair.
With this particular hair loss problem a person will not see anything until about 6 weeks or 3 months after the traumatic event has happened. In some cases where the condition is severe, it can result in the woman losing large amounts of hair at any one time. But it can be treated and in many cases, the problem will go into remission and as long as they are able to avoid situations that may cause it to happen again, they should have no problems in the future.
However, for some women the condition of Telogen Effluvium can be so severe that it becomes a chronic disorder and will persist for months or years. Unfortunately, for these women actually finding and understanding what is causing the problem to occur is the most difficult thing that they will face.
Above we have looked at what are considered to be the two most common of all hair loss women causes. However, if diagnosed correctly then the right kind of treatment can be provided and this will then reduce the chances of the condition becoming far worse. Not only will the right treatment help to prevent further hair loss, but is also likely to help hair regrowth in the future.
